Episode 20 - The Gast Family Singers (with Elise Wisner)

When I’m talking about the Beautiful & True with my guests, many of them bring up their families. Thinking back, almost all have. But “family” means something a little different to each of us. For some, family is a source of great joy. For others, it’s almost an obligation. Or put a little better, a sacred duty. For some, family is a place of great danger – emotional or physical, and for others, it’s the place where you feel most comfortable and secure.

There’s also the family we’re born into, the families we create, and the families we choose.

My guest this week is Elise Wisner, and we talk a lot about family. The joys, the challenges, and everything in between. Elise is a mother, a wife, a sister, a cousin, a daughter, a niece. She is a retail manager, a singer of lullabies and gospel, and a tremendous giggler.

We talk about her family’s passion for music, the force of nature that is her 4-year-old daughter, and the challenges of trying to find enough alone time to take a shower during a pandemic. And near the end, there’s a surprise guest appearance that I bet will put a tremendous smile on your face.

Enjoy!
